Indian Navy joins Flood Relief Operations in Sri Lanka - INS Jalashwa

Indian Naval Ship Jalashwa entered Colombo on 30 May 2017 and handed over Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief stores to the Sri Lankan authorities. Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, WV, RWP & Bar, RSP, USP, VSV, NDC, PSC, MNI, Commander of Sri Lanka Navy and Mr PB Abeykoon, Secretary to the President of Sri Lanka along with the High Commissioner of India visited the ship and took stock of the relief material. The Indian Naval disaster relief teams along with their Sri Lankan counterparts continue to distribute medicines and relief material in the flood affected areas and are helping evacuate affected citizens to safety and provide medical care.
