The Western Fleet of the Indian Navy is celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year, having been formally constituted on 01 March 1968. With modest beginnings in its nascent years, the Fleet has, over the last 50 years, grown into a formidable surface force and has been at the forefront of almost all operations executed by the Navy during this period. With a multitude of assets, ranging from the aircraft carrier and destroyers to tankers and patrol vessels, the Fleet has the flexibility to deploy in any role across the full spectrum of missions.
