Visit of Oman Navy Vessels

Royal Yacht of Oman 'Zinat Al Bihaar' commanded by Lieutenant Commander Salim Bin Mohammed Bin Ali Al-Moani and Royal Navy of Oman Vessel (RNOV) Sadh commanded by Lieutenant Ali Mohammed Said Alazri are on a goodwill visit to Kochi from 18 to 20 April 2019. On 18 April 2019, the Commanding Officers of visiting foreign ships accompanied by Commodore Thabit Mahmood Lashkaran Al Zadjali, Defence Attaché, Embassy of Sultanate of Oman called on Rear Admiral Puneet K Bahl, VSM, Chief Staff Officer (Training), Southern Naval Command and interacted on professional issues of relevance.

During the visit at Kochi, various activities were undertaken including visit of specialist officers of Indian Navy on board RNOV Sadh followed by professional interactions. The visiting ship’s crew were also taken for a tour of Damage Control Training Facility at Seamanship School and Navigation & Direction School. The crew also visited places of cultural interest in Kochi.

Royal Omani Ships are planned to depart Kochi AM 20 April 2019 for Colombo, Sri Lanka. There are about 108 crew members including 20 officers and 88 sailors on board the visiting ships.
