Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla Commends Kendriya Vidyalaya Students, Kochi

Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla, AVSM,NM, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command met the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya- I, Naval Base, Kochi, who had won first position in National Science Fair held from 03 to 04 December 2018 at New Delhi. The project on ‘Control of Melon Fruit Fly in Agricultural Fields’ was demonstrated to the Admiral. The project uses indigenous baits without chemical insecticides to trap and control the population of Melon Fruit Fly in the agricultural fields of Ernakulam district. The project has been selected for Intel International Science and Engineering Fair to be held at Phoenix, Arizona, USA in May 2019. The Admiral complimented the students on their innovative thought process and encouraged them to find more innovative solutions. The project team comprised guide Shri SR Ajith, PGT (Bio Sciences) and students Richard Joseph from 11th standard and Manya M Kumar, Nived S Kumar and Esabel from 12th standard.
