TROPEX 17

TROPEX 17, a theatre level Maritime War exercise including IN, Army, AF and ICG was conducted on the Western seaboard from 24 January - 23 February 2017. KH 35 (Anti-ship missile) was successfully fired by IL 38 aircraft on a decommissioned ship during TROPEX 17, thus proving the lethality of the Anti Ship Missile. Participation of Services was as follows:-

(a) IN-   56 ships (including 11 ICG ships), 51 aircraft (including one ICG aircraft), 05 submarines and Marine Commandos.

(b) IA-   Troops from 91 Infantry Brigade and Commandos from Para Special Forces.

(c) IAF-    20 aircraft (Sukhoi, Jaguar, Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft and Refueller aircraft) and Special Forces (Garuds).
