Southern Naval Command Commemorates World Hydrographic Day

World Hydrographic Day 2019 was celebrated by Southern Naval Command with the theme 'Hydrographic Information Driving Marine Knowledge'. Students of Navy Children School, Kochi visited survey ships on 20 June 2019 and showed keen interest in this specialised field. In addition, various events were conducted by the survey ships, which included a workshop on safety procedures while conducting survey tasks and maintenance of hydrographic equipment. A lecture on the theme of WHD was also conducted for all officer trainees of SNC, which covered the capabilities of Indian Naval survey ships as also various hydrographic activities carried out by them, both in Indian as well as international waters.
