SLINEX - 13

Sri Lanka India Naval Exercise (SLINEX 13)

The first Sri Lanka India Naval Exercise or SLINEX was conducted in 2005. This exercise was not conducted thereafter due to security situation in Sri-Lanka. SLINEX-13 was conducted off Goa from 04 – 07 Nov 13. INS Talwar participated from IN side and SLN was represented by SLNS Sagara. The exercise was conducted over two phases with the harbour phase from 04 - 05 Nov 13 and the sea phase with debrief from 06 - 07 Nov 13.

The major activities conducted as part of the exercise were Replenishment at Sea approaches (RASAPPS), Visit Board Search and Seizure Exercise (VBSS), Surface firing on a floating target, Flying operations and Asymmetric threat operations.
