Rear Admiral Deepak Bansal, VSM assumes charge as the Admiral Superintendent, Naval Ship Repair Yard (Kochi)

Rear Admiral Deepak Bansal, VSM took over as the Admiral Superintendent, Naval Ship Repair Yard (Kochi) from Rear Admiral SN Alamanda, VSM on 16 December 2019. Prior to taking office, Rear Admiral Bansal paid a floral tribute at the memorial for ‘The Unknown Worker’.  
    
Rear Admiral Deepak Bansal was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 01 August 1987. Prior to elevation to Flag rank, the officer held various important appointments including Director, Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology, Chief Controller Naval Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service, Commodore Superintendent of Naval Aircraft Yard (Kochi) and    Chief Staff Officer (Technical) at the Headquarters of Naval Aviation, Goa.

Rear Admiral SN Alamanda leaves office after a stint of about two and half years, during which the Yard made notable progress, both in terms of infrastructure growth as well as in carrying out repairs and refits of various Indian Naval ships. He now moves to assume the duties of Assistant Chief of Material (Modernisation) at IHQ MoD (Navy), New Delhi.
