Passing Out Ceremony Conducted for 194 Medical Assistants at SOMA, Mumbai
194 medical assistants including 26 international trainees (19 Sri Lankan and seven Tanzanian naval personnel) graduated on completion of Part I & II ‘Q’ diploma course in 23 paramedical specialisations at a valedictory function held at School of Medical Assistants (SOMA) on 21 December 2018. The course included an array of theory and practical training in various specialisations at INHS Asvini. The trainees have also undergone advanced skill and scenario based training in trauma and cardiac resuscitation using Simulation Based Training Methodology (SBTM) at the Medical Simulation Centre (MSC) at INHS Asvini. Amongst 194 trainees, 63 personnel were enrolled for two year paramedical diploma course recognised by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, which includes 11 nursing assistants of the Indian Army. Trainees also participated in various extra-curricular activities, sports and educational visits like attachment programme with Maharashtra emergency medical 108 ambulance service for skill enhancement and handing emergencies.
