Naval Rescue Teams Extend Diving Assistance During Relief Operations at Gujarat

Based on a request received from civil administration for diving assistance at Dondi Dam near Chhapra village, Rajkot, a naval diving team was dispatched on 13 September 2021 from INS Sardar Patel. The naval team was asked to recover/ rescue two occupants of a car that got sunk near the dam bridge on 13 September 2021 due to incessant rains and flooding. With the assistance of local authorities, the naval diving team under took diving operations for over ten hours to salvage the car and recover mortal remains of one occupant. Search efforts for second missing person will continue on 15 September 2021.
