Indian Navy Rescue Team Aids Assistance to Locals in Mumbai Flood

Based on a request received from Disaster Management Unit of Government of Maharashtra, three Indian Navy rescue teams from INS Tanaji, INS Vajrabahu and Material Organisation Mumbai assisted 27 Mumbaikars to safety in the Kadawali and Shahad (KDMC) areas on 04 July 2019. Mumbai suffered flooding because of heavy rains and the Bhatsa and Ulhas rivers overflowed their banks. The teams will stay overnight with the civil administration to be able to respond swiftly to emergent situations in the next few hours.
