Naval Base Karwar Provides Assistance to Civil Administration – Update 1
Indian Navy rescue team from Naval Base, Karwar continued the rescue operation at Kadra Dam, Kaiga in Uttar Kannada till late night on 06/07 August 2019 and evacuated 500 people. The rescue effort recommenced at 0700 hrs on 07 August 2019 and 100 Kaiga employees were evacuated. As the flood water at Kaiga receded, the teams were redeployed to Hinduwada and Malapur areas where 55 women and children have been moved to safe locations. Naval Base Karwar has deployed Emergency Response Teams in three vehicles comprising naval divers, Gemini boats, life jackets, lifebuoys, ropes as well as diving equipment to the affected areas since 06 August 2019.
