Motor Car Expedition to Commemorate Platinum Jubilee Year of INS Shivaji, Reaches Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala

A motor car expedition from INS Shivaji, Lonavla,  comprising seven officers, four sailors, and three defence civilians, reached Indian Naval Academy (INA) on 03 May 2019.

INS Shivaji is the main training establishment for Marine Engineering training of the Indian Navy, for both officers and sailors. As a part of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations, INS Shivaji is conducting an outreach to students and youth with the aim of increasing awareness among them about the Indian Armed Forces, through this motor rally. The first leg of the Expedition was flagged off on 26 March 2019.

The fourth leg which was flagged off by Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command on 29 April 2019 from Kochi after covering more than 10,000 kilometers, reached INA on 03 May 2019. The team called on the Deputy Commandant INA. The expedition was flagged off by Vice Admiral RB Pandit, AVSM, Commandant INA on 04 May 2019. The expedition is heading for Karwar, Goa, Satara, Kohlapur, Pune and will finally reach INS Shivaji on 09 May 2019.
