Medical Evacuation at Maldives on 25 and 26 February 2018

The IN’s Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) detachment continues to assist Maldives in respect of outer island support. The following activities were undertaken during the period under review:-

(a) On 25 February 2018, a request was received by the ALH detachment at Male regarding medical evacuation of a 37 year old woman who had sustained head injuries post road accident. The ALH undertook evacuation of the patient from Mamigilli (116 nm from Male) to Male at night for further treatment.

(b) On 26 February 2018, another request was received regarding medical evacuation of a 35 year old woman with advanced stage breast cancer.  The ALH undertook evacuation of the patient from Ari Atoll (50 nm from Male) to Male for further treatment.
