International Student Officers and Sailors Graduated from Diving School, Kochi

Five international student officers and three sailors from Bangladesh, Indonesia, SriLanka, Philippines, Maldives, Myanmar and Vietnam graduated as Clearance Divers, after successful completion of 22 weeks of rigorous training from 08 February to 24 July 2021. The passing out ceremony was held on 24 July 2021 at Diving School, Kochi. The Course is considered as one of the most challenging courses not only in India but worldwide. Rear Admiral TVN Prasanna, CSO Training at HQSNC has felicitated the passing out officers and sailors at the passing out ceremony upon their successful completion of the course. Lieutenant Avishka Rasod Heenkenda from Srilankan Navy has been adjudged the best Clearance Diving officer (IS). The officers were trained in advanced diving skills which included Combat Diving, Mixture Diving, Underwater salvage operations, Explosive Ordinance Disposal, Mine Clearance operations, Helo Jumps, Surface and underwater demolition, High altitude combat Diving training camp and 35/55 m sea dives. It is pertinent to mention here that Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh had met these trainees on his visit to Kochi on 25 June 2021.
