Indian Navy Annual Musketry Championship (INAMC) Conducted at INS Shivaji

The Indian Navy Annual Musketry Championship (INAMC)-2019 was conducted from 04 to 08 November 2019 at INS Shivaji. Teams from the Southern, Western and Eastern Naval Commands participated in the championship, which comprised matches with INSAS rifle, Light Machine Gun (LMG), 9 mm carbine and 9 mm pistol in various firing positions. Three matches were conducted in run and fire mode with INSAS and LMG from 300 metres; and carbine from 100 metres. Two matches with pistol and carbine were conducted from a fixed distance of 25 metres to assess accuracy. The event culminated with a Camp Fire, wherein Commanding Officer INS Shivaji presented medals and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up of individual matches. Anith Patil, H II, Kapil Kumar, SEA I and Ajay Saini, ME II stood first, second and third respectively in 300 metres INSAS rifle shooting category, while Sandeep Kumar, SEA I, Anith Patil, H II and Sanjay Kumar, SEA I stood first, second and third respectively in 300 metres LMG. Pramod Kumar, AAW III, S Dheterwal, EAP IV and Manjit Singh, CHME stood first, second and third respectively in 100 metres Carbine. Lt Manoj Singh Gill, SLt Shobit Mishra and Lt Joel Thangeo stood first, second and third respectively in 25 metres pistol firing. Western Naval Command emerged as the overall winners of INAMC-19 and was awarded the Champions Trophy and Banner, while the Runner-Up Trophy was awarded to the Southern Naval Command.
