Golden Globe Race - 2018 (Update 3)

Commander Abhilash Tomy of the Indian Navy is representing India in the Golden Globe Race 2018 (GGR) on an indigenously built sailing vessel ‘Thuriya’. The race commenced on 01 July 2018 and Commander Abhilash is presently in 10th position and has sailed over 3,300 nautical miles since commencement of the race. He crossed the first 'Gate' at Lanzarote, Canary Islands on 13 July 2018 and sailed West of Cape Verde whilst approaching the Equator. Commander Abhilash is presently in the equatorial region of the Atlantic Ocean. Progress of the race can be viewed on the official GGR website (http://www.goldengloberace.com).
