Exercise Varuna - 2018
Indian Naval Ships Mumbai and Trikand participated in the 16th edition of ‘Exercise Varuna’ with the French Navy in the South Western Indian Ocean. As part of the exercise a number of evolutions aimed at enhancing interoperability were conducted which included, manoeuvres, cross deck flying and medium range gun firing. On completion of the exercise, the ships visited Reunion Island. The commanding officers INS Mumbai and Trikand called on the Prefet of Reunion Island and Captain Henry Levet, Commandant, French Naval Base. In addition, the ships were open to visit by local population and a reception was also hosted onboard for local dignitaries.
