Conduct of Virtual Sahara Milan by Naval Wives Welfare Association (Eastern Region)
The Sahara Team of Naval Wives Welfare Association (Eastern Region) conducted Virtual Sahara Milan at Visakhapatnam on 11 December 2020. Mrs Devina Jain, President NWWA Eastern Region presided over as the Chief Guest for the Virtual Sahara Milan. The aim of the Milan was to interact one on one with maximum Sahara ladies in Visakhapatnam and adjoining areas in a safe virtual environment, considering the prevailing COVID situation in mind.
At the outset, President NWWA (ER) apprised the members about the tremendous leaps that Sahara has achieved in fulfilling the aspirations of each Sahara family. The President reiterated that even during the pandemic situation, the NWWA theme of ‘Outreach’ has been fulfilled by reaching out to the Sahara ladies. She complimented the entire Sahara Team for the hard work put in assisting maximum Sahara ladies in sorting out their grievances. The CRSO (East), thereafter presented “Sahara Annual Report 2019-20” and detailed the assistance rendered to members on 453 occasions. Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) rules and regulations were covered by Officer-in-Charge, ECHS. The Psychiatrist of INHS Kalyani delivered a lecture on “Coping with Stress During COVID”. Finally, Mrs Sonal Negi, Sahara Coordinator delivered a lecture on “Benefits of Yoga”. This was followed by an Open House with Question and Answer Session which was conducted to resolve issues faced by the Sahara ladies.
The event brought cheer to the entire Sahara families of officers and sailors. The Virtual Sahara Milan provided the right breather for taking the mind into a more positive space in the tumultuous times of COVID. The Virtual Sahara Milan was well appreciated by one and all with enthusiastic participation by large number of Sahara ladies based at Visakhapatnam and adjoining areas.
