Commander-in-Chief Andaman  & Nicobar Command Visits  Eastern Naval Command

Lieutenant General Podali Shankar Rajeshwar AVSM VSM Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN) arrived at Visakhapatnam on 23 January 2020 on a maiden two-day visit to Eastern Naval Command (ENC). The General was accompanied by Mrs Harshita Rajeshwar, President Defence Wives Welfare Association. During the visit, Lieutenant General Rajeshwar interacted with Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain, AVSM VSM Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief ENC and was briefed on the activities of the Command.  Later, he also visited INS Shivalik and a submarine.

Lieutenant General Rajeshwar was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in December 1980. A gunner and aviator, he is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, Army War College and National Defence College in New Delhi and Philippines. Lieutenant General Rajeshwar has actively taken part in Operation Meghdoot and Operation Rakshak. Further, he has commanded a Medium Regiment in Operation Parakram, an infantry brigade on the Line of Control, Counter Insurgency (Romeo) Force in Jammu & Kashmir and a Corps in the Desert sector. He has served on various staff assignments and also been UN Military Observer in Mozambique and Rwanda. Before assuming the present appointment on 01 December 2019, he was Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC).
