Comforting Hands of INS Netaji Subhas for Fishing Villages in West Bengal

INS Netaji Subhas lent a hand in support of fishing villages of Vijayabati and Amrabati in South 24 Parganas District, to provide Cyclone Relief Material as well as COVID19 related items during a Community Interaction Programme conducted on 07 June 2021. The activity benefitted the fishing community of the two villages. The Naval Team interacted with representatives of the fishing community to spread awareness on National Security on the maritime front and distributed leaflets on Coastal Security. The Team handed over COVID19 Safety items such as Face Masks, Hand Sanitisers, etc to Shri Bibhash Koley, President, Fisheries Association, Frazerganj. The naval team also provided packages of bleaching powder and dry ration to support members of the fishing Community, who suffered extensive damage to their houses and livelihood in the aftermath of Cyclone Yaas.
