'Bharat Parv' celebrations at ENC

“Bharat Parv” event is being organised by the Government of India as part of the Republic Day 2017 celebrations across the nation from 26 January to 31 January 2017. The prime objective of organising the event is to generate a patriotic mood, promote the rich cultural diversity of the country, to ensure wider participation of the general public and to popularise the idea of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.  In pursuant with the new initiative, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) is conducting a string of events aimed at showcasing the ‘Silent Service’ and for raising awareness among citizens.  As part of the ‘Bharat Parv’ a mass Yoga camp was organised at the Fleet Sports Ground from 6 am to 7:30 am on 27 January 2017. The event organised with assistance of Yog Guru Smt Sonal Chakrabarty saw enthusiastic response from over 750 personnel including families.

Other activities related to ‘Bharat Parv’ celebrations include a health walk and a cycling expedition on 28 January 2017.  In addition, one ship and submarine will also be made ‘Open to Visitors’ at Visakhapatnam from 0900 to 1700 hours.  School children and accompanied by their staff and public at large may visit the ship and submarine.  During the event, visitors would be given career counseling and would be provided with information on various entry options for the youth to join the Indian Navy.  A blood donation camp is also planned at INS Circars on 31 January 2017. In addition, ENC is also organising a public performance of Military Music at Bhubaneswar for the first time on 31 January 2017 where the Hon’ble Governor of Odisha has consented to be the Chief Guest.
