Bangladesh Navy Delegation Visits Kochi
A team of officers from Operational Sea Training Guide of Bangladesh Navy headed by Commodore ASM Afzalul Haque (TAS), NPP, is on a two-day visit to Headquarters, Southern Naval Command, Kochi on 13 and 14 December 2018. The head of the delegation called on Rear Admiral Sanjay J Singh, NM, Flag Officer Sea Training and Rear Admiral K Swaminathan, VSM, Chief Staff Officer (Training) on 13 and 14 December 2018 respectively.
The aim of the visit was to understand the methodology being adopted by the Indian Navy for conduct of Operational Sea Training of ships. During the visit, the delegation interacted with FOST, the Indian Navy Work Up Team and other training schools at Kochi.
The Bangladesh Navy Team had an interactive session with the Indian Navy Work Up Team and Indian Navy Safety Team and later visited the Damage Control Training Facility at Seamanship School and Water Survival Training Facility at INS Garuda. On 14 December 2018, the Bangladesh Navy Team visited the Navigation and Direction School to observe the training conducted on Ship Handling Simulator. Thereafter, the Operational Sea Training activities being conducted by INWT onboard INS Ranvijay was demonstrated to the visiting delegation.
