Apex Level Coastal Security Review Meeting held at INS Netaji Subhas

Mr Malay Kumar De, Chief Secretary to Govt of West Bengal and Vice Admiral Karambir Singh Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, co-chaired the Apex Level Coastal Security Review Meeting for the State of West Bengal held at INS Netaji Subhas on 24 April 2018. The meeting was attended by senior functionaries of the State including Mr Atri Bhattacharya, Principal Secretary (Home & Hill Affairs). During the meeting, various action points of National Committee for Strengthening Maritime and Coastal Security towards augmentation of Coastal Security were reviewed and deliberated, which included expeditious implementation of coastal security schemes, such as coastal mapping, common communication network, distribution of biometric identity cards, colour coding of boats, monitoring of fish landing points and crossing of International Maritime Boundary Line by fishermen.
