‘Festival of Giving – Daan  Utsav’ at Southern Naval Command

As part of community outreach activity, a team of naval personnel from Southern Naval Command (SNC) visited the Janaseva Shishubhavan, Aluva on 01 November 2017 and presented the inmates with gifts and other essentials to mark the culmination of the ‘Festival of Giving’ – ‘Daan Utsav’, which was undertaken by Signal School from 02 October 2017. As part of the ‘Joy of Giving’, a ‘Wish Tree’ was placed at Signal School on 02 October 2017 with a variety of wishes from the children such as books, stationery, bed sheets, toiletries etc. Personnel from all over the SNC responded to the initiative with generosity, enthusiasm and contributed wholeheartedly. The Joy of Giving Week – ‘Daan Utsav’ is India’s ‘Festival of Giving’ being celebrated countrywide since 2009 in the month of October and is aimed to bring together Indians from all walks of life to celebrate the act of giving back to the society.
