‘Dilli Series’ Sea Power Webinar – 2020 to be Conducted at Indian Naval Academy

Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala will host the seventh edition of the prestigious ‘Dilli Series’ Sea Power Seminar on 16 and 17 October 2020. The theme for this year’s programme is “Military Use of Sea Power”. The seventh edition will be conducted in Webinar format, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The webinar will be covered under three sub – themes: Historical Perspective - Explorations and Annexations through Sea, Theories of Sea Power – Relevance of Corbett and Mahan for Military Dominance in the 21st Century and Contemporary Relevance - Naval Strategies in a Globally Interconnected Era and Great Power rivalry in the Indo-Pacific Region.

Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), Chairman National Maritime Foundation, will be the Chief Guest for the event. Senior Naval Officers, luminaries and academia participating in the webinar include VAdm Pradeep Chauhan AVSM & Bar, VSM (Retd), VAdm Anil Chopra PVSM, AVSM (Retd), RAdm SY Shrikhande, AVSM (Retd), RAdm Monty Khanna, AVSM, NM (Retd), Shri Nitin Pai (Director, Takshashila Institution),Cmde G Prakash (Retd), Cmde SB Kesnur and Research Scholars from the Maritime History Society.

The seminar, named after the historic Mount Dilli located within the campus of INA, aims to acquaint young officers and cadets on developments in the maritime domain whilst simultaneously laying a strong foundation in our rich maritime history.
