This is the official web site of the Directorate of Indigenisation, Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy). This site is intended to act as an interface between the Indian Navy and the Indian Industry and to provide information to Industry with regard to the indigenisation procedure followed and the developmental projects scheduled to be taken up by the Navy in the near future. Directorate of Indigenisation (DOI) has been set up in the Indian Navy to impart the much needed impetus to Navy’s efforts to indigenise various foreign origin systems, equipment etc fitted on board our War Ships and Submarines. With this, the responsibility of indigenisation of all Naval systems and equipment (except aviation related equipment and armament explosives) has been transferred from DGQA to Navy. However, inspections and quality assurance aspects have been retained with the DGQA organisation. The Navy’s thrust will be on indigenisation of complete equipment and sub-assemblies rather than spares. Towards this end, interactive discussions and seminars with CII and industrial houses are being organised by DOI on a regular basis. The DOI has two local offices at Mumbai and Visakhapatnam, namely, Indigenisation Unit (West) [IU(W)] and Indigenisation Unit (East) [IU(E)] respectively. Prospective vendors may click on the links indicated on the left side in order to obtain the details of developmental projects which are planned to be taken up in the near future by the DOI and IUs with the help of Indian Industry. |
