Facilities

Friendship Across The Seas

                          The following facilities will be provided : 

(a)        Tugs, Berthing facility and Harbour Pilot for one IN and one OUT movement. 

(b)        One car for Flag Officer/Senior Officer present onboard. 

(c)         One Car for CO, one mini bus for officers and one bus for ships company of visiting ships. 

(d)        Transport for organized visits for Officers and Sailors. 

(e) Accommodation, Messing and Transport for visiting delegates.  

Hospitality Centre                    

           A hospitality centre is set up for facilitating the personnel from visiting ships. The Hospitality Centre is set up on the Naval Wharf and provides facilities like telephone, e-mail and fax, a currency exchange counter, souvenir shops and cafeteria. In addition ,the host Indian Naval Ship and a liaison team will assist in Day-to-Day conduct of events. The details of MILAN Souvenirs is displayed in hospitality centre. Ships could place consolidated demands on arrival.

 Logistics 

The following logistics support would be made available for visiting ships

(a)        Fuel.     Arrangements  have been made for providing fuel (LSHSD) to visiting ships.  Fuel will be provided by  Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) from jetty fuel point and also by fuel barge. Ships are requested to intimate their fuel requirement on arrival to facilitate timely fuelling. 

(b)        Water.                Fresh  water  points  are available at the wharves.  Ships would be required to connect up  their  own  hoses  for  replenishment.  Ships  are  requested  to  conserve  water as there is a general shortage from January to April. 

(c)         Power Supply.          Ships  are  requested  to  run their own generators during their stay in harbour since shore supply facility is not available in the wharves. 

(d)        Victuals.         Visiting ships are requested to intimate their requirement, if any of Mutton, Chicken, Fish, Vegetables etc. in bulk.  Victuals will be provided on payment.

 Underwater Diving             The services of Naval Diving Team can be made available for any assistance required.         

 

Facilities provided by Naval Ship Repair Yard (Port Blair)  Limited repair facilities will be provided to the visiting ships by the Yard.

 

Medical Facilities

 

             The Indian Navy has a well equipped hospital  (INHS Dhanvantari). his hospital  has  various  specialist

doctors  in  its  staff  and  is  well  equipped  to  meet almost any medical requirement. In addition there is also a  well  equipped  Civil  Hospital  (GB Pant Hospital).

 

 Clubs

             The ANC will extend membership to personnel of all the visiting ships as follows :-

                 a)     Integrated Defence Sports Complex (for Officers)

                    b)      Sainik Institute (For personnel below officer rank) - Timings1800 to 2100
